The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council welcomed five new members following an extensive process at the Elective Congress held on Thursday. Among the newly elected members are former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah, Randy Abbey, Frederick Acheampong, Nana Sarfo Oduro, and Kingsley Osei Bonsu, who will serve as Premier League representatives on the council.

During the initial round of voting, Abbey, Frederick Acheampong, Nana Sarfo Oduro, and Kwesi Appiah emerged as the top four candidates. However, the fifth spot required a third round of voting due to Kingsley Osei Bonsu and Elleony Amande receiving an equal number of votes in the first round. In the third round, Kingsley Osei Bonsu secured victory with 12 votes, while Elleony Amande received 6 votes. As a result, Kingsley Osei Bonsu will join the other four candidates in representing Premier League clubs on the Executive Council for the next four years.

The 2023 GFA Elective Congress was convened at the Global Dream Hotel in Tamale and featured a rigorous selection process to determine the new council members.
