With his move from Bayern Munich to Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, Sadio Mane is the most recent well-known player to leave European football.
After joining Bayern from Liverpool in the summer of last year, the 31-year-old Senegalese forward only played one season in Germany before leaving for a reputed £34 million.
Mane’s season was not good, and he had an injury that prevented him from competing in the 2022 World Cup. Additionally, he was fined and suspended by Bayern following an altercation with teammate Leroy Sane on the training field.
Now that his relocation to Saudi Arabia is official, he will play with Marcelo Brozovic and Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr. He was also said to be joining Al-Ahli and rejoining former Liverpool teammate Roberto Firmino.
