Giovani Lo Celso, a midfielder for Tottenham Hotspur, has caught the attention of Napoli, according to his agent.
This summer, Napoli has its sights set on a different Spurs player after lending Tanguy Ndombélé, another midfielder from Tottenham, last year. The Partenopei are interested in Giovanni Lo Celso, who has spent the last year and a half on loan at Villarreal, according to Calciomercato.com.
Lo Celso would rather be loaned to Napoli than sold by Tottenham. The 27-year-old’s agent told Radio Punto Nuovo that he was interested:
“We are discussing it, but nothing has been decided as of yet.”
It would appear that Napoli must let Piotr Zielinski go before making a play for the Argentine. Some clubs in Saudi Arabia, as well as Lazio closer to home, like Zielinski. The Polish midfielder, a key component of Luciano Spalletti’s Scudetto-winning squad, would be replaced by Lo Celso.
Lo Celso would have enormous shoes to fill as a result. He made 22 appearances in Spain’s previous season, scoring twice and providing three assists.
