Gianluigi Buffon set to retire from goalkeeping

Goalie Gianluigi Buffon, who is currently with Parma, was a goalie for Juventus, and PSG, and will shortly retire from competition.

Although there hasn’t been an official statement yet, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the 45-year-old, who is still very much involved with Parma, has taken the decision.
Buffon agreed to end his contract with Parma without too many issues, as he still had a year left on it. His relationship with President Kyle Krause, who respects the goalkeeper’s decision, has always been like this.

It is appropriate that Buffon, who joined Parma following his departure from the Bianconeri, will conclude his career with the same team.

Already, he’s gotten offers for non-playing parts. In recent days, a number of bids have been received, one of which is from Parma. However, the most significant and alluring proposition appears to be for the post of head of delegation of the national team, which was previously held by the late Gianluca Vialli.

Buffon is the ideal candidate for the job, according to Gabriele Gravina, even though the goalie takes his time to decide.
