AL AHLI CLOSING IN ON MOVE FOR GABRI VEIGA AS NAPOLI DEAL COLLAPSES

Gabri Veiga’s projected transfer from Celta Vigo to Napoli is in danger of falling through because Al Ahli are now vying for his services.

The Serie A Champions had a deal in place for the young Spanish player, but the negotiations stalled during the past few days when Celta attempted to alter the terms at the last minute.
Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims that Veiga’s transfer to Saudi powerhouses Al Ahli and Celta has been finalized in full.

The transfer has also received the 21-year-old’s approval, with Saudi Arabia’s head coach Matthias Jaissle being a major driving force.

Veiga is a marquee acquisition for Al Ahli since the Spaniard was one of the continent’s most sought-after young players.

The high-profile acquisitions at the Jeddah-based team already include Riyad Mahrez, Roger Ibanez, Edouard Mendy, Roberto Firmino, Franck Kessie, Merih Demiral, and Allan Saint-Maximin. The Spanish U-21 star will soon join this group.

The new Saudi Pro League season has gotten off to a great start for Al Alhi, who have won their first two games.

Before Ibanez and Mahrez scored in the win over Al Khaleej, Firmino scored a brilliant hat-trick in the team’s inaugural match against Al Hazm.

The arrival of Veiga will strengthen an already star-studded team and improve Al Ahli’s chances of winning the championship.
