According to the Ghana AIDS Commission, women make up two-thirds of all new HIV infections in Ghana.
Females accounted for 10,927 of the 16,574 new HIV infections recorded in Ghana according to the 2022 National and Sub-National HIV/AIDS estimates and predictions, while men made up 5,647 of the cases.
On August 14, 2023, the Ghana AIDS Commission released the statistics.
