In the first match of the two clubs’ preseason tours of the United States, Real Madrid came from behind to defeat Milan.
The first 45 minutes of the match in Pasadena were frantic as both teams battled for the first goal.
But just before the half-hour mark, Milan would take the lead when Fikayo Tomori jumped over the Madrid defense to head in a Christian Pulisic corner for the game’s opening goal.
After replacing Junior Messias, Milan immediately went from excellent to fantastic when 18-year-old Luka Romero curled in the Rossoneri’s second goal of the game from the edge of the box.
Milan lost control after the break even though they appeared to be quite at ease during the first half.
A apparently innocuous Fede Valverde shot from outside the box somehow managed to get past Milan goalkeeper Marco Sportiello, and two minutes later Valverde restored parity from close range thanks to a careless back pass.
After Milan’s run of bad luck, the two teams traded chances, but Real Madrid stole the victory in the final seconds when Vini Jr. slipped through the Milan defense to score.
