An Upper West senior police officer declared dead.

The passing of Mr. John Kobina Baidoo, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), has been announced by the Upper West Regional Police Command.

Prior to his death, the senior police officer held the position of acting Wa district police commander in addition to his duties as a legal prosecutor in the Upper West regional police headquarters’ legal and prosecution branch.

ASP John Kobina Baidoo passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023, according to a statement released in Wa today, August 1, 2023, and signed by ACP Prince Gabriel Waabu, the chief of the Upper West regional police.

While receiving treatment for an unidentified illness at the Upper West Regional Hospital in Washington, he passed away.

The Upper West regional police commander in the statement further indicated that the police administration has set Saturday, August 5 for the one-week funeral observation for the late senior police officer.
