ASTON VILLA JOINS THE RACE TO SIGN MOUSSA DIABY

Moussa Diaby, a winger for Bayer Leverkusen, is attracting interest from a number of Premier League teams, including Aston Villa.

Arsenal, Newcastle, and Manchester United are just a few Premier League clubs that have kept an eye on Diaby’s progress at Leverkusen. Diaby is anticipated to depart the Bundesliga team this summer.
Aston Villa is considering making a move for Diaby, although they would have to smash their transfer record to do so. According to The Daily Mail, Leverkusen reportedly values Diaby at £50 million, above the £38 million paid to acquire Emi Buendia from Norwich in 2021.

In 48 appearances last season for Leverkusen in all competitions, Diaby scored 14 goals and contributed 11 assists. Since his international debut, Diaby has had nine caps for France.

The winger, who left Paris Saint-Germain for Germany four years ago, is at home on either flank and has also played a center-forward role for Leverkusen.

As Mikel Arteta wants to add another attacking option, Arsenal had been thought to be the front-runner to recruit the Frenchman. However, Villa is now contemplating a move for Diaby as the club looks to bolster itself ahead of a European campaign in 2023–24.

Youri Tielemans, a free agent from Leicester, has already been signed by Villa, and an agreement has been reached to bring Pau Torres, a center-back for Villarreal, to the club.
