Inter Milan complete return of Alexis Sanchez

Inter Milan has come to terms with Alexis Sanchez’s return, signing him on a short-term contract for free. The Chilean departed from Nerazzurri last year, later joining Marseille on a free transfer.

Rejecting extension offers from Marseille, Sanchez became a free agent this summer. Despite tempting offers from Saudi Pro League clubs and Serie A competitors AS Roma, Sanchez opted to rejoin Inter Milan, where he is due for medical tests on Friday.

Sanchez will reunite with new additions like Yann Bisseck, Marcus Thuram, and others. While he excelled with Marseille last season, contributing 18 goals and three assists, he faces challenges in securing a regular starting spot amid competition from Lautaro Martinez, Thuram, and Arnautovic. In his prior Inter stint, he contributed to the team’s 2020/21 Scudetto win.

Meanwhile, Inter’s Joaquin Correa is set to leave for Marseille in a €2 million loan deal with a €10 million purchase option. Inter launched the season impressively with a 2-0 win against Monza, including a double by Martinez.
