Manchester City has expanded its lineup by acquiring Jérémy Doku from Stade Rennais, introducing a new winger to their squad. The 21-year-old Belgian national has joined the Premier League champions in a deal valued at approximately €64 million, committing to a five-year agreement.

Doku, recognized as a right-winger celebrated for his explosive speed and skillful maneuvers, initiated his professional journey with Anderlecht in Belgium prior to transferring to Rennes in 2020. His performance included 12 goals and 10 assists across 92 matches for the Ligue 1 team. On the international stage, he earned 14 caps for Belgium and scored two goals.

Txiki Begiristain, City’s director of football, expressed his thoughts on the transfer, stating, “He possesses all the fundamental attributes essential for a winger… I genuinely believe that under Pep’s guidance and our technical staff at City, he will evolve into a first-rate attacking sensation.”

Doku marks the third addition to Etihad Stadium’s summer roster, following the arrivals of Mateo Kovačić and Joško Gvardiol. He is poised to potentially make his debut in City’s Premier League clash against Sheffield United on Sunday.
