WEST HAM SET TO LAUNCH £20M BID FOR JAMES WARD-PROWSE

This summer, West Ham United plans to make a £20 million offer for Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse.

Although he has a contract with the Saints through 2026, the 28-year-old is anticipated to quit the team following their relegation from the Premier League.

Numerous clubs are apparently interested in signing the England international, who supposedly wants to stay in the top division.

Although West Ham is eager, they are only prepared to match half of Southampton’s asking price for the seasoned midfielder.

The Hampshire organization reportedly wants about £40 million in payment to allow Ward-Prowse to go this summer.

One of the best players to come out of the Saints’ youth academy is Ward-Prowse.

He made his competitive debut in 2011, and since then, he has played more than 400 times for the club.

Since Southampton was promoted to the Premier League in 2012, Ward-Prowse has been one of the team’s most crucial players.

He has contributed to over 100 goals and consistently gives outstanding performances.

The England international had a strong season last year despite failing to save his team from the drop.

In 38 games last season, Ward-Prowse scored nine goals and sent out four assists.

According to WhoScored, he also contributed 1.8 crosses, 1.7 tackles, 1.4 interceptions, and 1.2 clearances per game in the top division.
