The Premier League champions of Manchester City have announced that Aymeric Laporte has finished his transfer to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr.
The 29-year-old Spanish defender, who has spent the previous five and a half years at the Etihad Stadium, is believed to have cost the Saudi Pro League team £23.5 million.
After Riyad Mahrez joined Al-Ahli earlier in the summer transfer window, Laporte follows his former City teammate to the Middle Eastern nation.
Laporte was a member of Pep Guardiola’s team and won five Premier League championships, the Champions League, and five domestic cups before moving to City from Athletic Bilbao in a £57 million transfer in January 2018.
Laporte joins an increasingly star-studded squad at Riyadh-based Al-Nassr, where his team-mates will include Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane and Marcelo Brozovic.
