According to Baba Sadiq, a music, media entrepreneur, and politician, event organizers in Ghana spend approximately $3.5 million exclusively on Nigerian artists during the month of December. This revelation came ahead of the inaugural Guinness Accravaganza event, a celebration of black culture and creativity held on September 20, 2023, at the newly established Barndoor Beer Garden in Accra.

The event featured prominent figures from Ghana’s tourism, creative, and cultural sectors, including PaJohn Bentsifi Dadson, Abdul-Samed Sadiq, Anabelle Mckenzie, Kennedy Agyapong Jr, Mariam Agyeman-Buahin, and Sadiq Abdulai Abu.

Baba Sadiq also discussed the challenges faced by event organizers in securing sponsorships, emphasizing that the allocated budget for the tourism sector for the entire year is insufficient. He noted that despite their struggles, event organizers are often hesitant to voice their concerns due to potential repercussions. In response to these challenges, he mentioned that organizers are actively exploring alternative funding methods for their events.
