In a resounding victory, Gifty Oware Mensah Aboagye has been elected to represent women’s football on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council for the upcoming four years. This achievement underscores her commitment to advancing women’s football in Ghana.

As the proprietor of Berry Ladies, Gifty Oware Mensah Aboagye garnered unanimous support from all twenty Women’s Premier League Clubs during the election, which took place at the Elective Congress held in Tamale.

Gifty Oware Mensah Aboagye’s remarkable win saw her secure a perfect 20 out of 20 votes. This victory positions her as the new face of women’s football on the Executive Council, succeeding Madam Habiba Atta-Forson. The Executive Council plays a pivotal role in making crucial decisions that shape the future of Ghana’s football landscape and is led by GFA President Kurt Okraku, who himself was recently re-elected.

During her campaign in August, Oware Mensah pledged an unwavering commitment to the advancement of women’s football. She articulated her determination to advocate for the establishment of additional grassroots football competitions and football academies across Ghana. This initiative aims to nurture and showcase female talent from a young age, laying a strong foundation for the future of women’s football in the country.
