Inter Milan has received an initial bid from Manchester United of €40 million (£34.3 million) for goal keeper Andre Onana

Having worked with the Cameroon international at Ajax, Erik ten Hag has made Onana his top target as the Red Devils attempt to acquire a new goalkeeper this summer.Onana, who joined Inter Milan last season on a free transfer from Ajax, impressed during a strong debut season for the Italian club. The 27-year-old was crucial to Inter’s journey to the Champions League final.

Onana is seen as an improvement over David de Gea, who is currently a free agent after his contract with United expired on July 1. Onana is more at ease in possession and has more control over his penalty area.

After attempts to reach an agreement on a contract extension with the Spaniard on more favorable terms fell through, United prioritized the signing of a new number one goalkeeper.

According to Sky Sports Italy, United have reportedly made an initial offer for Onana in the amount of €40 million, and the goalkeeper’s departure might free up money for Inter to bolster its roster.
